Theophilus Amenger is a black pilgrim on a perpetual journey in a confounding universe. He is also a Knight of the Order of the Trouble Makers, an order which some people refer to using the euphemism progressives, but who are in reality trouble makers trying to rouse humankind towards becoming progressively better.
Every pilgrim must have a religion. My religion (Pilgrimist - of which I am the only adherent) preaches that we must do good always. There are only six words in the holy scriptures of my religion - A Pilgrim's Guide to Life - and they read, do good, then do more good.
